I’m Obsessed with The Muppets Promo Videos

I’ve always loved The Muppets. That’s why, when I learned that they were coming out with a movie, I was beyond excited. Needless to say, all of the promo videos for the movie have been hilarious. If you haven’t seen them yet, you need to check them out. The greatness of these videos speaks for themselves. Here are my favorites:

I Love Harry Potter, but This Goes Too Far

This a video of a 20-something guy who claims to be the biggest Harry Potter fan.
At this rate, I’m willing to believe him.

When JK Rowling signed his arm, he turned it into a tattoo and he can wear Harry Potter clothes for 3 months without ever wearing the same thing.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Harry Potter. I’m going to see the newest movie at 3:15AM Friday morning, I’ve read every book, and have even owned some Harry Potter clothing. Not to mention the fact that my school has its very own Quidditch league.

But at what point does fandom go too far?
I think thats a question this guy needs to ask himself.

Whose up for an Interesting Game of BINGO?

I’m not usually big into board games. They can get boring, especially depending on who you’re playing with. However, I believe I have found the perfect game for all you college students out there looking to do something screwed up for the night.

It’s called Chatroulette Bingo. Sounds fun, right? Basically, you go on Chatroulette and play a game of Bingo with one of the many types of cards there are out there on the Internet (example below). You can even turn it into a drinking game!

So, to all of my bored friends out there, hop of Chatroulette and get wasted!

A-Z of Awesomeness

Geekologie is probably one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite website. Here is one reason why: they post the most ridiculously nerdy, yet completely awesome things like the A-Z of Awesomeness poster.

Why You Should Never See a 3D Movie

Recently, I had a week off from school; a wonderful thing known as spring break. While at home one of my friends and I decided that we should go see a movie together. Of everything that was out we chose to see Alice in Wonderland. I was wary about seeing the movie to begin with, but I figured at the very least I got to leave the house for the night.

When we got to the theater my friend was excited and dying to see it in 3D. So, I sucked it up, paid the whopping $15.25, got my 3D glasses and trudged off to the theater. This was only the beginning of my ordeal.

I sat through the next hour and 48 minutes with a headache and feeling a bit dizzy, and it definitely wasn’t due to a massive sugar overload. Looking through those Disney 3D glasses, I realized a few things. First of all, I didn’t have any other option but to wear the glasses. If I took them off, the screen was nothing but a blur. If I kept them on, the entire movie looked like it was in a foggy haze and the 3D wasn’t even that spectacular. Nothing jumped out to touch me or made me feel like I was there.

So why would anyone waste their money on something like this? I have an idea…

The novelty of 3D – It’s the newest thing to do with movies. They even pushed back the release date of Clash of the Titans to make it 3D. If a movie comes out in 3D, everyone wants to see it with those awesome “special effects”. I think we all just need to take a step back and weigh our options. There is the regular movie experience where nothing is blurry, you can see every color, and hopefully, you don’t get a headache. Or, you can spend way too much money on a ticket and a crappy pair of plastic glasses where your experience is completely miserable.

I know 3D is here to stay which is somewhat disappointing. Maybe in the future the technology can be improved upon so I don’t want to throw up just from sitting in my seat. You never know, maybe one day we can be put inside a movie and experience it. But for right now, I’d like to stick to my traditional movie-going experience.

From Superbowl Ad to SNL

Betty White is a fairly well known older actress. She’s funny and one of those adorable old people you just can’t help but love.

So far, this year has been pretty good for Betty White. First, She appeared in a Snickers Superbowl ad this February. Next thing you know, people are pushing for her to appear on SNL via Facebook. Now, for the first time in her career, Betty White will be hosting SNL.

Just think about it, that’s an intense leap. I don’t think she considered for a moment that doing a Snickers commercial would land her the coveted post of SNL host, but through the power of the Internet and social media, that is where her career is headed. Granted, it’s sort of late in her career, but better late than never!
